One Word Can Create Your New Future Now – “Change” (Original Blog)

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” ~ Charles Darwin

One thing that social networking has been great for in the last 3 or 4 years are the number of positivity memes shared daily by users. In this day of unrest and what can be perceived as persistent negativity, there are a lot of people spreading positive messages. A friend from Atlanta, Kila, shared the passage connected with this post and I found it to contain a very powerful and simple truth: we must “change” to create the life we desire.

We know that people tend to become “creatures of habit” and we often resist change. The other side of that coin is that people by their nature have a desire for something greater, a desire for “more life.” To become what we ultimately will become, we must embrace change.

Here is a question that may help you create the future you’ve always wanted:

What’s the one thing that feels like a void in my life (i.e. time-freedom, happiness, fulfillment, purpose, financial comfort, etc.)? Identify something that really excites you when you think about the possibility of it coming into your life.

Life is about asking “the right questions.” Any desire that you’ve been given can be satisfied and fulfilled. Unfortunately, we tend to spend more time dwelling on the problem, “feeling stuck” and not searching for solutions. You are powerful, far more powerful than you are probably giving yourself credit for. Let’s help you get “unstuck” with a few steps to bring more fulfillment to your life.

Quick Recipe For Change:

First, make the decision to change!

It may sound like an oversimplification, 100% of the time change begins with the declaration “I’m ready to change!” Claim your change now! You don’t have to identify all 50 steps right now. Just make the decision to change.

Second, take 15-20 minutes with a pen and a pad!

Brainstorm on what your life looks like and feels like after accomplishing your goal. Do you remember that car you really wanted, maybe the shoes or house? You got excited about the feeling that came along with the acquisition. You got excited first and you thought about the steps later. Spend some time with that excitement of your new life change and write about it. Nothing in the world was ever created without the idea and feeling behind it that came first. The time writing and exploring will help you with the ideas and the feelings that inspire your action to change and achieve your goal.

Third, identify what step can you take right now to move closer to your goal?

Action, Action, Action!! Whether it’s watch a YouTube video about your goal, call a friend for advice or schedule an appointment, take a step to move toward your goal right now. I will always include “inspired action” in anything I share because this is where the magic happens.

Forth, rinse and repeat daily!

Changing your future will depend upon your consistency and commitment to your new future and your goals. One of my favorite quotes is “change doesn’t happen in a day, it happens daily.” Sit down with your goal/desire on a daily basis. Ask empowering questions about how you can get closer to your desire. Challenge yourself to move out of your routine. Create new habits that support your goal. Above all else – remain positive at all times! Everyone with a success story also has the stories of the challenges they faced on the way to success!

You’ve got this!

Commit to change – today!! No need to wait until Monday. Be willing to change. Accept change. Embrace change. Your future is depending on your willingness to step out of your old self and step into your new self. That requires you to leave some of the old you behind and pick up parts of the new you. This is life, this is evolution. Best of all, you’re always in control.

Happy New You and keep evolving! VA
